Pyin Oo Lwin City

Pyin Oo Lwin, formerly colonial hill station, is a scenic city in Mandalay region, Myanmar, some 67 kilometers east of Mandalay, and at an altitude of 1,070 meters.

Pyin Oo Lwin was relatively cool climate allowing the British ruling class to escape the fearsome heat of Mandalay and lower Myanmar. During that era, the town was called Maymyo, and is still sometimes referred to this way today by local.
