Myanmar Heritage Tour

Yangon - Kyaikhtiyo - Bago - Mandalay - Mingun - Sagaing - Monywa - Bagan - Heho - Pindaya - Inle - Indein - Yangon

Day 01- Yangon

Welcome you to our guide and transfer to hotel. Start sightseeing to Shwedagon  Pagoda over 2500 years old and one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments, Sule Pagoda  over 2000 years old and its surrounding the old colonial style building in the city centre, Bothathaung  Pagoda the ancient monument stood close to the Yangon river. Then you can enjoy your dinner with culture show at Karaweik Royal Barge. Overnight is at the hotel in Yangon.

Day 02- Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo

After breakfast at hotel a long excursion trip to Kyaikhtiyo 190 km east of Yangon. Arrive at Kyaikhtiyo base camp, 11 km uphill for hike with local open trucks to Yathe Taung middle camp which takes 45 minutes drives up. Then mountain hiking to Golden Rock a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. Overnight is at hotel in Kyaikhtiyo.

Day 03- Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon

After breakfast, drive back to Bago the ancient capital of Mon Kingdom in the 15th century 84 km north of Yangon. Arrive at Bago and visit to Shwemawdaw Pagoda  over a thousand years old which is even taller than the Shwe Dagon Pagoda of Yangon, the Shwe Tha Lyaung Reclining Buddha Image which is 55 meters long and one of the country’s most revered. Proceed to Kanbawzathadi Palace, Maha Cedi Pagoda from which upper most terraces magnificent panoramic view of the Bago. Then visit to pottery cottage and wood carving  work  shop and cheroot factory in Bago. Return to Yangon in the evening on the way can visit Kyaikpon Four Buddha Images. Stay overnight in Yangon.

Day 04- Yangon – Mandalay

After breakfast at the hotel transfer to airport leave for Mandalay. Upon arrival Mandalay Airport, proceed to Amarapura, an ancient capital from 11 km south of Mandalay. Visit to U Bein Bridge 1.2 km long over 200 years old wooden bridge built over Taungthaman Lake, Mahagandayon  Monastery – home to several thousand young monks as a center for monastic study and strict religious discipline and then silk weaving home cottage. Continue to Mahamuni Pagoda – a bronze Buddha image covered with a thick layer of gold leaves, Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery – known for its traditional wooden carvings, Atumashi Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda – known as the World’s Biggest Book for its 729 marble slabs inscribed with the whole Buddhist scriptures and enjoy the sunset view from the Mandalay Hill. Stay overnight at hotel in Mandalay.

Day 05- Mandalay – Mingun – Sagaing

After breakfast excursion boat trip to Mingun where the world’s second largest ringing bell exists. Visit to Pahtodawgyi unfinished pagoda, Mya Theindan Pagoda and surrounding. Continue to Sagaing Hill which is covered with numerous pagodas and monasteries and well known as a retreat for Buddhist devotees. Visit to Kaung Hmu Daw huge dome-shaped pagoda and copy of the Mahazedi Pagoda in Sri Lanka. Stay overnight in Mandalay.

Day 06- Mandalay – Monywa

As well as being the commercial center of the Chindwin Valley Monywa is an interesting place to visit. Proceed to Bodhi-ta –htanug huge standing and reclining Buddha Image. There is a magnificent view of the surrounding country side and the wonderful beauty spots of the trip. Then Than-boke-de pagoda has 500,000 Buddha Images showing the finest designs and the high skills of the artists and unique idea of Chief Monk of its monastery. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 07- Myonwa - Po Win Taung – Bagan

After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Mt. Po win. There was carved out into many Buddha statues with sand stones in the caves since the 2nd century. Then proceed to Pa-khu-ku on the way one can visit for Ma Au village which has so many workshops and pagodas and then take for private boat to Bagan for 1hour. Overnight is at the hotel in Bagan.  

Day 08- Bagan

After breakfast at the hotel, full day sightseeing tour in Bagan. Tour highlights are Shwezigon Pagoda  built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as the first Buddhist building, Ananda Temple which has four Buddha Images in standing position and reliefs depicting the Buddha from his birth to his Enlightenment, Thatbyinnyu Temple  the highest white stucco building in Bagan, Htilominlo Temple, Dhamanyangyi  Bagan’s most massive temple, Mahuha Temple  built by King Manuhar from Thaton in 1059 in Mon Style, Myinkabar Gubyaukgyi Temple well-  known for its wall painting depicting scenes from the Jataka. Visit to Shwesandaw Pagoda, the famous sunset view to Ayeyarwaddy River. Overnight is at the hotel in Bagan.

Day 09- Heho – Pindaya – Inle

Upon your arrival drive to Pindaya which is natural limestone cave displays more than 8000 Buddha Images placed by many devotees  pilgrims over the centuries and then paper and umbrella making home cottage. Then proceed to Nyaung Shwe and transfer to hotel in Inle. Stay overnight at the hotel in Inle.

Day 10- Innle (Indein)

After breakfast at hotel, an excursion boat trip to Indein. Visit to the quaint village of Indein on the western side of the lake is accessed by a winding river. Nyaung Oak ( Under the shade of Banyan trees ) monastery a nice and old moldering complex of shrines and stupas at the bottom of the hill and at the top is Shwe Indein reached by a long stairway with over 400 wooden columns. From hillsides there are greatest views across the lake and the hill in the east. Overnight is at hotel in Inle.

Day 11- Inle – Heho – Yangon

After breakfast at hotel take a boat excursion on Inle Lake to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Ngaphechaung Monastery (well known for its jumping cats trained by monks) and typical floating gardens. Then transfer to Heho airport and flight to Yangon. Evening visit to China Town.  Overnight is at the hotel in Yangon.

Day 12 -Yangon – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to airport and flight to Yangon. Visit to Bogyoke Market – gems arts & crafts souvenir stores. Then transfer to Yangon airport .
