Yangon - Bago - Bagan - Salay - Mandalay - Amarapura - Yangon

 

Day 1 - Yangon

Starting with a tour of Buddhist culture, visit the glittery pagodas, Shwedagon(one of the most world's wonder), Botahtaung, Chauk Htet Kyi(Reclining Buddha Image). Get an experience to see the different monument buildings and a colorful life of local community around Sule Pagoda where is the city centre.

Day 2- Yangon – Bago – Yangon

The ancient capital of Mon Kingdom in 15th century and was 84 km north of Yangon. Arrive at Bago and visit to Shwemawdaw Pagoda over thousand years old which is even taller than the Shwe Dagon Pagoda and the Shwe Tha Lyaung Reclining Buddha Image which is 55 meters long and one of the country’s most revered. Proceed to Kanbawzathadi Palace, Maha Cedi Pagoda from which upper most terraces, magnificent panoramic view of Bago plains can be seen. Visit to pottery cottage and wood carving workshop then a cheroot factory .In the evening on the way visit Kyaikpon Four Buddha Images. Overnight is at hotel in Yangon.

Day 3 – Yangon-Bagan

Proceed to Bagan by flight. Bagan is the royal city in Bagan Era and a paradise for seeing a variety of the ancient architectural temples. Explore the masterpiece of wall paintings and the great architectural achievements of the first Myanmar Monarchy. Visit Bagan archaeological Museum represents the cultural heritages and the utensils of Bagan Era, local souvenirs and enjoy an amazing sunset and idyllic scenery. Overnight is in Bagan.

Day 4- Bagan - Salay (or) Mt. Popa – Bagan

Excursion to Salay and on the way one can study for Toddy farmer’s life like collecting toddy wine, making molasses and making handmade oil. Visit to Yoke-Sone Monastery decorated with wood-carvings depicting scenes for moral lessons. Then a short walk through the ruined old monastery and to see lacquer ware Buddha Image and the ancient monastery. 

(Optional activity to Mount Popa )

 Then tour continues to Mount Popa an extinct volcano which is the abode of Nats (Spirits).  On top of the mountain there are monasteries and pagodas and shrines in different style. Overnight is in Bagan hotel.

Day 5 - Bagan -Mandalay

After breakfast transfer to Nyaung U airport and depart to Mandalay by domestic flight. Upon arrival at Mandalay Airport proceed directly to Amarapura. Visit Mahagandayon  where one may observe the daily life of the monks studying Buddha’s scriptures then U Bein bridge 1.2 km long over 200 years old and wooden bridge that built in 1782 spanning the Taung Tha Man Lake. Continue to Mandalay and visit to Mahamuni Pagoda  a spectacular Buddha Image covered with thick layers of gold leaves, Shwenandaw Kyaung (Golden Palace Monastery) a superb example of Myanmar traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda the world’s biggest book for its 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures which was built by King Mindon in 1868. Evening visit to Mandalay Hill which is situated 230 meters in elevation for a panoramic view of the city and its surrounding areas at sunset. Overnight is in Mandalay.

Day 6 – Mandalay- AVA-Yangon

After breakfast continue to the Myanan Sankaw Royal Palace and City Wall with its wide moat. Imagine the romantic past of the Kongbaung dynasty and then stroll to interesting palace. After lunch drive to Ava (INNWA) which was located about 21km from Mandalay. Upon arrival take a pony cart to visit Maha  Aung May Bone San  Monastery (brick-and-stucco monastery )  built in imitation of traditional wooden style and its masonry construction has ensured its survival, Grand Bargara Monastery has a three-tiered roof and its adjacent religious lecture hall. In the eastern side of the monastery has a seven-tiered roof. Then depart to Mandalay airport for Yangon. Overnight is in Yangon.

Day 7 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Yangon International airport for your departure.
