Mahamuni Pagoda Festival – mostly in February, pilgrimage thousands of people from nearby districts)
Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda Festival – a ritual of offering a filled alms bowl to a thousand and more monks and novices, with many shop stalls and Zat Pwes at the foot of Mandalay Hill.
Food offering to the monks with Zat Pwe at mostly every quarter during the winter.

Ayeyarwady Dolphins – as a tourist attraction, about 77 km north of Mandalay, near Myae Zun village
Shwe Kyet Kya & Shwe Kyet Yet - about a mile west of Amarapura on the bank of Ayeyarwaddy, for the view of Sagaing Hill, Ayeyarwaddy river and the Ava Bridge
Thakinma Hill – Gathering flower festival in April, about 9 miles northeast of Mandalay
Shwe Sar Yan Village and Pagoda Festival - mostly in March, about 10 miles southeast of Mandalay, about 4 miles from Mandalay – Pyin Oo Lwin highway, built by Saw Mon Hla, queen of king Anawrahta, can see Pagan period mural at side pagodas’ walls.
Ye Ta Gone Hill – about 7 miles east of Mandalay, about 45 minute trek with nice views of the mountain, overlooking Golf Resort.
Kyauk Se Hill – about 40 miles south of Mandalay, trekking with nice views
Mekkyaya Ancient City – about 35 miles south of Mandalay, can see ruin of Pyu cemetery
Dat Taw Gyaik Falls – magnificent fall, about 1.5 miles for Mandalay – Pyin Oo Lwin highway, in the village of Anisakan, reached by a 45 minute trek through forest.
A Huge Teak - Painne Gone (Jackfruit) Village at Pyin Oo Lwin Township, about 3:30 hour trekking from the village.
Yankin Hill & Mya Kyauk Monastery – about 3 miles east of Mandalay palace, nice view of a mountain and the quiet and relaxed place, a cave altar with gold fish at the foot of the pagoda , monastery is famous for natural mineral water.
Three forts (Asekhan, Thabyedan , Singyone) in Inwa - overlooking the Ayeyarwady and a last- ditch defence in the Third Anglo-Burmese War
Kyaukka Village and Shwe Gu Ni Pagoda in Monywa – a simple village 12 miles east of the city and fame for lacquerware, famous pagoda about half a mile west of the city for its fulfilling powers.
